Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Shop Is Selling a Candle Called Smells Like My Vagina

October 4, 2019

A candle being sold by Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop online store has an unconventional scent.

The 47-year-old actress’s company is currently selling a $75 votive amusingly named “This Smells Like My Vagina,” according to a listing on Goop’s online store.

According to the product description, the project – made by artisanal fragrance brand Heretic – “began as a joke between perfumers Douglas Little and Paltrow,” who were working together on a fragrance. While the two were testing the scent, the politician star came off as, “Uh…. This smells like vagina,” the site said.

While the duo didn’t end up bottling the “fun, gorgeous, sexy, beautifully unexpected scent” as a perfume, they did think it was “perfect as a candle,” the description reads.

According to Goop, the brand did a “test run” of the candle during the In Goop Wellness Summit and it sold out “within hours.”

The scent of the candle is described as containing “a blend of geranium, citrus bergamot and cedar absolute, alongside damask rose and ambrette seeds”.

However, this isn’t the first time that Paltrow has opened up about her private parts.

In 2016, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she had tried vaginal steam therapy. Although skeptical at first, she admits that she has since become obsessed with the beauty treatment.

“The first time I tried V-steaming, I was like, this is crazy,” Paltrow told The Cut. “My friend Ben brought it to me, and I was like, ‘You’re out of your f-ing mind.’ What’s this?'” But at the end of the day I was like, ‘This is so great.’ And then I started doing research and it’s been around for thousands of years in Korean medicine and has real healing properties.”

Paltrow also said at the time that she was a big fan of testing the new treatment.” I actually really like being a guinea pig. Some of my other girls are also guinea pigs for stuff, but I like to try things. I don’t necessarily endorse all things, but I like to try them and write about them.”

Paltrow’s lifestyle brand is currently launching a six-part series on Netflix called The Goop Lab, which will feature the star and her team exploring strange health therapies. The series will premiere on January 24.
